NEW Tesco Express stores are set to be opened in Woolston and Hood Manor.
The One Stop on Dam Lane and Hood Lane will be rebranded as the supermarket giant’s convenience stores.
Warrington Borough Council has granted applications for planning permission in order to erect external signage in relation to the new branches.
No other planning consent is required as the premises are currently in use as retail units.
One Stop has been a subsidiary of Tesco since 2003, although it operates as a separate business.
Hood Manor Post Office, which is based in the One Stop, had previously announced it would close temporarily ahead of an extensive refurbishment of the store.
It is currently shut, and is scheduled to reopen on Valentines Day.
Post Office relationship manager Billy Ware said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the refurbishment.
"Customers can continue to use Post Office services at any convenient Post Office, including our Old Hall and Penketh branches."
