NORTHWICH BID is on the lookout for artists and creatives to perform at the town’s Festival of Arts this summer.

Set to be delivered in July, the event will showcase the cultural and artistic talent that exists in the town and surrounding areas, while building on the success of the previous two festivals.

The deadline for expressions of interest is midnight on Friday, February 14, so potential applicants now have just three weeks to apply and let BID know what they plan to deliver.

“Activities at the festival can take place both indoor and outdoor, and we’re looking for individuals or groups to deliver performances or sessions that have the wow factor,” said BID Manager Jane Hough.

“We welcome performances from a range of disciplines including theatre, music, dance, film, digital arts, visual arts, pavement art, graffiti art, cartoonists, tattoo art and many more.

“Practitioners will need to co-ordinate their activities within the town centre.”

BID will once again be working with a number of partners to deliver the festival, including Northwich Art Shop, Visual Arts Cheshire, Barons Quay, Cheshire West and Chester Council and a number of businesses within the town centre.

The festival will also encompass pre-existing events that will be taking place in July, such as The Visual Arts Cheshire Art Trail, Northwich Art Shop’s Grand Day Out and Northwich Rotary’s River Festival, as well as tying activities in with live music venues, bars and cafes throughout the town.

To express an interest in taking part in the festival, individuals or groups need to complete a short proposal which includes details about their organisation, what they will be delivering, the audience aimed at and the preferred location, amongst other things.
