Cllr Richard Beacham, CWAC cabinet member for housing, said: “The bravery of those who fought during both World Wars and in more recent conflicts will never be forgotten.

“Their actions are commemorated on Remembrance Sunday every year and on monuments across the borough.

Northwich Guardian:

Cllr Richard Beacham

"As our latest programme of new housing developments takes shape, we have decided that a fitting way to remember these brave soldiers in the year that we mark 100 years of council housing is to name a number of roads in these developments after these local heroes.”

The developments which will feature the special road names include Wharton Green and land to the rear of the Verdin Exchange.
