A new online directory has been launched for residents, carers and their families.

Live Well Cheshire West and Chester enables people to search for information and advice on all aspects of local life from health, education and housing to transport, care choices for older people and children's services.

Cllr Val Armstrong, cabinet member for adult social care and public health at Cheshire West and Chester Council said: ‘Live Well Cheshire West will give residents quick and easy access to information to help them in their daily lives.

"They might need to look up the times of bus services to the local hospital, search for flexible childcare to fit in with shift patterns, begin to think about care choices for elderly parents or find activities for teenagers in their local area.

"Juggling work, family and caring responsibilities is a way of life for so many people. Many of us have our own chronic or long-term health needs to manage as part of this daily challenge too.

"Local residents and NHS colleagues have helped us develop the site with these complexities in mind and we really hope the website will help more people get the services they need in the right place, at the right time."

Live Well includes information on planning for retirement, staying independent and living safely at home as people get older.

For people considering care for older relatives, there is advice on how to identify what a person’s needs might be, what type of care or accommodation would suit them best and how to pay for it.

Advice on what to do if you suspect someone is being abuse or neglected is also available.

Cllr Armstrong added: "The site has lots of information for children and young people with special education needs and their parents and carers.

"We urge people to come and take a look at the site and give us their feedback."
