D&G Bus is stepping in to retain service 130 following the decision by Arriva to cancel its service.

D&G Bus service 130, running between Macclesfield, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Colshaw Farm and Handforth, will be arriving at a bus stop along service 130 from Monday, January 27, and provides a partial replacement to the current service.

The New Look Service 130 provides buses up to every 60 minutes Monday to Friday, with occasional buses also calling at Mereside, Alderley Park.

Buses will also run up to every 60 minutes daytime Saturday on service 130.

Kevin Crawford, operations director at D&G Bus said: “We’re pleased to be able to step in and ensure Macclesfield, Alderley Edge, Alderley Park, Wilmslow, Colshaw Farm and Handforth along the route of 130 continue to receive a regular and reliable local bus service, with buses running up to every 60 minutes.

“This is a great opportunity for D&G Bus to build on our current network of local bus services across Cheshire, which will benefit the communities along each route, making bus travel a viable alternative to using the car – for work, college and leisure travel.

“We look forward to continuing the development of our network of local bus services.

“We will be delivering timetable leaflets to local homes and many shops, public houses, post offices, village halls and parish councils along service 130, and look forward to welcoming you on board.

“We’re making bus travel even more popular providing a reliable and frequent network of local bus services which customers can rely on.”
