A MAN has died after suffering a gunshot wound last Friday, police have said.
Police were called to an address on Freemantle Avenue in Thatto Heath at around 3.45pm on Friday, January 17 where they found a man had "sustained a gunshot wound.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A police spokeswoman has confirmed the man has sadly died.

She said: "Merseyside Police can confirm that following an incident at an address in Freemantle Avenue on Friday, January 17 a man in his 50s has sadly died.
"The death is not believed to be suspicious and police are supporting the man’s family at this time.
"A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
