A GROUP set up to support people in Devizes with multiple sclerosis has been given a £500 boost by the town’s Freemasons.

MS sufferer Becky Miles, who set up the group, was delighted to receive the money from Philip Mackie the immediate past master of the Moonraker Lodge.

He said: “I read in the Gazette and Herald about the formation of a new MS Support group. Setting up any new group is hard and costly so I hope that the contribution will go some way to helping them to grow the group.”

Ms Miles said: “I am very grateful to the Moonraker Lodge for making this contribution to our Support Group. We are a new group having only been set up since April 2019. We have up to 22 people attending our monthly meetings and I’ve been so overwhelmed with how much it means to the people that are attending that they can socialise with people with similar problems.”

The Devizes MS Support Group meet every last Friday of the month from 10am-12noon at The Nursteed Community Centre. We would welcome anyone that has MS to our very lovely and supportive group. Please visit the MS Society Salisbury and District Facebook page if you would like anymore information.
