PCSO Chris Pountain caught one motorist speeding every 80 seconds over one hour this morning (Monday).

He said: "I have been out with the speed camera on Northwich Road this morning. Between 10.15am and 11.15am an astonishing 45 offenders were recorded exceeding the 30mph limit, with the highest speed being 46mph."

PCSO Pountain was also at Egerton Primary School this morning checking on parking. Two drivers were dealt with for parking inconsiderately.

Dense fog caused problems in the area on Saturday, and police attended six crashes, the majority of which they said were caused by drivers not driving to the conditions.

Firefighters were called to a two-vehicle collision on Chelford Road, Knutsford, just after 8am on Saturday.

One man was trapped and released from the vehicle. Two men were then handed over to the care of paramedics and taken to hospital as a precaution.

On January 15 PCSO Pountain carried out parking patrols at Yorston Lodge school. Four drivers were dealt with for parking offences, including two being issued with Fixed Penalty Notices.
