That’s what we were saying back in July 1974 with the arrival of Bolton’s newest sound system.
Calling themselves ‘The M5 executives’, Eddie Carr, Phil Byrne, Carol Howard, Graham Wilson, Derek Haywood and Tony Ashley, were offering, under the imposing title of Multiple Mood Mobile Music Machine, what they were claiming was the finest mobile Hi-Fi disco show in the district.
The concept of mobile discos had only started a few year’s previously in the UK in 1966, when Roger Squire began an entertainment service in North London named “Roger Squire’s Mobile Discothèques”.
It would be great to know if any of ‘The M5 executives’ are still involved in music?
