A man in his 50s is in a serious condition following an incident in Oswestry.
Emergency services were called to a building site close to Plas Ffynnon Medical Centre off Middleton Road at around 10am on Wednesday morning.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that the casualty was in an eight-foot hole but had been rescued prior to their arrival.
A spokesperson said: "Reports of casualty in hole eight-foot deep. Casualty rescued by ambulance aervice personnel prior to the arrival of Fire Service.
"Casualty conveyed to hospital by air ambulance."
A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police added: "Just after 10am police responded to an industrial incident in Middleton Road in Oswestry.
"A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital in a serious condition."
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances from Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wellington, along with operations and hazmat officers.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service was also in attendance.
