THE sky’s the limit for Knutsford ATC cadet Ellis Brennan.
Cpl Brennan, 15, is a member of the 2056 Knutsford Squadron, and at the Derbyshire and Lancashire Gliding Club was presented with the Nigel Howes Memorial Trophy for outstanding achievement by a junior member.
The award was in recognition of not only going solo and subsequently soaring, but also his willingness to help with the various jobs on the ground.

With more than 100 flights under his belt, the trophy was well deserved. Ellis brought the trophy to the squadron show fellow cadets and hopefully to inspire others.
He has also received his air cadet ‘C’ (civil) wings in recognition of his achievement to go solo in a glider and soar at the Derbyshire and Lancashire Gliding Club.
Civil wings are awarded when a cadet has completed all his flying training to a civilian standard outside of the cadets on his own initiative.
A squadron spokesman said: A brilliant achievement by Ellis, and well deserved.”
