CHESHIRE West and Chester Council has confirmed that it does not plan to introduce parking charges at Barons Quay car park.
This follows the news that after the latest wave of tenants move in, the retail and leisure complex will be more than 80 per cent full.
Parking charges were introduced in Northwich in November 2018 at a number of council run car parks around the town centre.
However Barons Quay car park, which has space for over 900 vehicles, remained free for four hours.
In May 2018, Northwich representatives for CWAC said that parking charges at Barons Quay should be put on hold until 65 per cent of the precinct’s square footage was occupied.
But despite the influx in new tenants, the council has confirmed that the parking situation will remain the same.
When asked the question by the Guardian, a CWAC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that there are no plans to introduce parking charges at Barons Quay car park.”
