THIS year we will be sharing with you the special days of couples from across Cheshire, and finding out more about how they celebrated.

Tom Frith, 60, and Julia Chard, 50, who live in Allostock, sprung an incredible surprise on friends and family when they tied the knot back in March after 12 years together.

Here, Julia tells us all about their fairytale day.

HOW DID YOU MEET?

We met at the Witton Chimes, Northwich – both on a night out with friends in September 2007

Tom approached me, and talk of a ride on his motorbike secured a date.

I thought we would just be friends – Tom had spotted me two years earlier but did not have the nerve to come over and chat.

THE PROPOSAL

Tom asked me to marry him on a beach in Fuerteventura while on holiday with my Dad. He asked his permission first – that was back in 2008!

THE WEDDING

March 16, 2019 at Winnington Park Recreation Club

Our guests were invited to celebrate at our joint birthday party, Tom's 60th (March 2) and my 50th (March 9).

We surprised our guests by having a wedding ceremony at 8pm in front of everyone. Tom announced the wedding in front of the guests as I was waiting at the back door of the venue.

There was a massive cheer and then my dad walked me 'down the aisle' as it were. Only five guests knew there was a wedding happening – my dad and mum, Tom's son Tim who was best man, my brother who did a reading and my good friend Kim who helped me get ready during the day, an unofficial 'maid of honour'.

After the wedding ceremony, we have local band Beaver playing on stage. They had played at our 40th and 50th party.

We had hotpot and curry and cupcakes with 50th, 60th and Just Married written on them and partied the night away with 150 guests.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORIES OF THE DAY?

Hearing the cheer of our guests when Tom announced that we were getting married, and the look on Tom's face when I walked into the venue with my dad.

He broke down in tears, in fact there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

MR & MRS BYRNE >>> 'Running together ignited a spark and led to a speedy romance'

It was the best night of my life, marrying Tom in front of all those we love. Everyone is still talking about the night and how special it was.

THE HONEYMOON

We went on a 'Pre Moon' two weeks before the wedding, to chill out before the big surprise party.

YOUR RELATIONSHIP

We have been together over 12 years and engaged for 10 – we never seemed to find the time to get married!

After losing Tom's dad in summer 2018, who always spoke about us tying the knot, we felt our joint birthday party would be the ideal opportunity to get married in front of all our family and friends and then have a good party.

We are best friends and soul mates, it took us long enough to find each other but will be together forever.

Sharing your special day could not be easier.
