FREE support is being offered to help smokers in Winsford and Middlewich to quit.

People who sign up will be given a personal health coach to plan a practical programme to work towards giving up tobacco.

This initiative comes just months after Winsford GP Dr Jonathan Griffiths hosted an interactive Stop Smoking Summit to encourage people to come up with new ideas to tackle tobacco addiction.

Pupils at Winsford Academy plan to create a Smokebusters campaign and carry out a survey to analyse the views of smokers.

Healthy lifestyle service Healthy One You Cheshire East is now reaching out to all smokers to take advantage of its free support to stop smoking.

Whether you’ve been smoking for one year or 20, it’s never too late to quit. By using free support like this you are three times more likely to quit than if you were to go it alone.

Campaigners say they really want to help the Winsford and Middlewich communities to stop smoking for good.

One You Cheshire East is provided by health experts Reed Wellbeing.

Tom Brunwin, Reed Wellbeing national operations manager for integrated health, said: “Last year, Reed Wellbeing supported more than 4,500 people to stop smoking.

“Our health coaches are experts in working with people to develop personalised plans that help them quit smoking by their agreed quit date.

“We can help you to kick the habit for good and we won’t charge you a penny. In fact, you’ll save money from quitting - just one of the amazing benefits of stopping smoking.

“There’s no reason not to give it a go – we would love to hear from you and start your journey to a life without cigarettes.”
