IMAGE intensity thrives as Knutsford Photographic Society reaches the halfway stage in the competition season.
With only three rounds left of the autumn/winter season, Knutsford photographers are continuing to compete at the highest level.
Emotion, action and colour have become the bywords for some excellent sports images which took first places in the recent print and PDI competitions.
'Total focus'
Entries in each section were very strong with 31 prints and 48 PDIs.
The L&CPU judge, Robert Millin was excellent, his pace kept the whole evening on schedule and his comments were always constructive.
Overall winner in the print section was local photographer John Cridland (Hold on for the ride).
John’s striking carriage driving image was taken at Henbury Hall, Macclesfield earlier in the year and was highly praised by the judge.
Again, new members featured well in the PDI section, with Nigel Wells taking first place with an emotion-filled image of a slalom canoeist (Total focus) taken at Holme Pierrepoint, Nottingham.
It was also great to see another new member Joe Morris take fifth place in the PDI section (Una ragazza con lo zucchero intorno alla bocca).
'Una ragazza con lo zucchero intorno alla bocca'
Joe’s image was of a young girl who has clearly been enjoying a sugary treat. It was a lovely candid portrait worthy of its placing against strong competition.
