MIXOLOGISTS at Wirral speakeasies Blind Pig have created a new classic cocktail menu - with a festive twist.

Seven magical drinks have been added to the Heswall and West Kirby bar menus for cocktail lovers who want to get into the Christmas spirit.

Wirral Globe:

Mistletoe Martini

At the Heswall branch customers can sample a: Chocolate Orange espresso Martini; hazelnut white Russian, Godfather and Mistletoe Margarita.

While at the Banks Road venue: The Grinch - a sour combination of Midori and peach schnapps; Nutcracker - Disaronno and a hazelnut liqueur plus a white chocolate Martini have been added.

The two Blind Pig bars boast a 2-4-1 offer from 4pm until 8pm everyday, a selection of more than 100 flavoured gins, craft beers, coffees and locally made cakes by healthy-eating spot Tel Island Food Bar in Heswall.

Wirral Globe:

Hazelnut White Russian

Thousands of visitors have enjoyed the luxury cocktail menu and mind-boggling selection of weird and wonderful gins since the West Kirby bar opened two months ago and Heswall opened its doors in April last year.

Owner Hannah Whitby, who founded both venues with husband Matt, said: “Christmas is the perfect time to be more creative with our cocktails.

“The mixologists at both Blind Pig bars have conjured up some very special drinks.

Wirral Globe:

Chocolate Orange

"We’ve taken a lot of bookings for Christmas parties already so I’m sure these drinks will be very popular over the festive party season.”

The original cocktail menu features many drinks made by the bars expert mixologists, as well as variations on classic tipples, such as the cherry old fashioned, a bananacolada and the White Lady, which is a cocktail of gin, lemon and egg white first made in 1919.

The bars have a wide range of live music, from rock, blues, funk, soul and jazz, with a roster of local artists on the line-up for December and plans to expand the musical offering in the New Year.

Wirral Globe:

Godfather

Earlier this month, a second bar opened upstairs at the Blind Pig in West Kirby and is free to hire for Christmas parties and other functions.

And marking the opening of the West Kirby venue in grand style, DJ Fast from New York trio Fun Lovin’ Criminals performed a four-hour vinyl set at a sold out party last week.

On New Year’s Eve, there will be charity collection buckets on the doors of the venue and all monies will be handed to Heswall and West Kirby’s Christmas lights funds for next year’s display
