Crews from Northwich, Knutsford, Holmes Chapel, Winsford and Middlewich fire stations attended
FIVE fire engines were dispatched to tackle a chimney fire in Lower Peover last night, Monday.
Crews from Northwich, Knutsford, Holmes Chapel, Winsford and Middlewich fire stations were called out to the scene shortly before 10pm.
This followed reports of a chimney fire at an address on Foxcovert Lane.
An inspection was made of the chimney stack and roof space using a thermal imaging camera, and it was established that the fire was contained to the chimney.
Firefighters tackled the fire from the grate using chimney rods and a hose reel.
Once it was extinguished, a thermal imaging camera was again used to check that the temperature had reached a safe level.
