UNIQUE images of Winsford captured for a 2020 charity calendar have been sent all over the world.

Friends of Winsford Town Park challenged photographers to take imaginative pictures of the town's hidden gems in a competition.

The favourite shots were selected for a calendar which is raising funds for the park.

More than 250 photographs were submitted.

After much deliberation, 12 images by local photographers Colleen Ashley, Alan Bailey, Chris Brennan, Terry Hamlett, Lisa Lacking, Donna Maria Long and Paul Moses were chosen by a panel of judges.

John Malam, chairman of Friends of Winsford Town Park, said: “We are delighted with the reaction to the Winsford 2020 calendar. People have told us how much they like the photos which show Winsford at its best.

“We’ve sold more than 500 copies already and we’re expecting lots more to go in the run-up to Christmas. The money raised will be used by the Friends for the benefit of Winsford Town Park so it really is a great all-round result."

Businesses and organisations throughout the town provided sponsorship.

John added: “We can honestly say the calendar has got a worldwide audience with copies being sent to friends and family in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, East Timor, South Africa, Norway and western Europe. And there are bound to be places we don’t know about.”
