A CHRISTMAS carol concert is being performed by Middlewich High School Community Choir to support people living with dementia.

The gifted singers present Nine Lessons and Carols at St Michael and All Angels Church in Middlewich at 7pm on Thursday, December 12.

Admission is free.

This year, the MHS choir is supporting Mid-Cheshire Hospitals Charity Everybody Knows Somebody Dementia Appeal and there will be a retiring collection to support this worthy cause.

Middlewich High school, Middlewich Primary School and the Middlewich community will be retelling the Christmas story through a variety of Christmas carols, songs and stories, bible readings and poetry.

The audience is invited to join the choir in singing favourite traditional Christmas Carols and get the festive season off to a wonderful start.

The MHS choir will also be carol singing at Morrisons in Middlewich on Sunday, December 15 from 12 noon until 1pm and at The Kinderton from 2pm to 3pm.

Choral director Julie Barker is also choral director of Holmes Chapel Chorus, who are also supporting the dementia appeal this year with their programme of Christmas events.

At last year’s Christmas concerts, the combined choirs raised the magnificent total of £1,250 which enabled Leighton Hospital Neonatal Unit to purchase a much needed 'Kangaroo' care chair.

The choir would like to thank everyone for their support over the past year and wish everyone a merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
