NURSES at St Luke’s Hospice are thanking the community for once again supporting their Christmas fair and raising £7,000 for patient care.

Hundreds of people turned out for the festive event at Winsford Academy on Saturday and enjoyed artisan stalls, a tombola, children’s crafts, festive refreshments and entertainment.

Ward sister Karen Jackson, who works on the Inpatient Unit at St Luke’s, said: “Once again we were absolutely overwhelmed by the number of people who came along to the fair. We are so grateful to the community for their continued support.

“Thanks also to all the lovely stall holders, performers Lostock Ukes, Vocal choir and the Fancy Feet dance group and of course to Winsford Academy for allowing us to hold the fair there.

“Some of the money is still coming in, but it looks like we will reach £7,000, which is an incredible amount to raise and will help fund patient care here at the hospice.”
