A PROFESSIONAL complementary health therapist is making dreams come true for infertile couples.

Clinical reflexologist Nicola Jane is helping women struggling to conceive to have babies, after successful therapy at her clinic in Winsford.

"My current success rate for assisting couples through a natural conception is 86 per cent," said Nicola, who lives in Middlewich. "I don't promise anything but I will try my best.

"There is no better feeling than being sent a positive pregnancy test from a woman who had fertility problems and then seeing the couple when they bring in the baby!"

After 15 years in the corporate world, mum-of-two Nicola reached a crossroads in her life and decided to re-train, gaining a level 5 diploma in practitioner reflexology, the highest qualification of its kind in the UK.

The 46-year-old opened her own business Reflexology by Nicola Jane two years ago and it grew so fast she needed bigger premises.

"I wanted to provide a quality service and make a difference to people's lives," she said.

Nicola has now rebranded her business at Innovation House as Cheshire Holistic Health, renting three rooms to other therapists, including integrative counsellor Anita McKenna, who is training to become a transformational life coach.

Reflexology is very relaxing, relieves stress and tension and may also help with conditions including arthritis, migraine, insomnia, digestive and respiratory problems.

"Traditionally, reflexology is carried out on the feet," said Nicola. "I am trained to work on the feet, hands and ears and incorporate all three for maximum benefits.

"By focusing on specific reflex points that map out areas of the body I stimulate healing in the associated organs and glands leaving the body feeling deeply relaxed and replenished.

"I care very much for each of my clients and I am passionate about their wellbeing. I now run a one stop holistic shop where people can come for whatever they need."

Nicola held an open day to celebrate the clinic's second birthday and raised funds for the local mental health charity Mind.

"Three of my mums came," said Nicola, who has completed additional training in reproductive reflexology.

"It's so lovely when they come to see me. Some may have had six miscarriages. I hug and cry with clients, you go on that emotional journey with them."

Helping women to conceive requires a painstaking approach.

"It's about getting the menstrual cycle back to where it should be and reminding women, through theirfeet, what the cycle should be doing," said Nicola. "I use no drugs at all."

In her spare time, she is a volunteer reflexologist at a local hospice.

"I went into reflexology because I wanted to do the best I could," said Nicola.

"There's no doubt in my mind it is life changing. It's about making clients better. Everyone seems to be so stressed out in today's world. Your body can only take so much. You need to take time out for yourself because you are important."
