FIRST Responders will be demonstrating life-saving techniques at a Heartstart awareness event at Booths in Knutsford on Saturday, November 30.
Adrian Rees, Knutsford Community First Responder Trust Heartstart Lead and Trustee said: “We achieved a fantastic milestone in September, exceeding 3,000 residents of Knutsford and surrounding communities attending our life-saving classes since the Trust started holding the free Heartstart classes in 2003.
“To celebrate this fantastic achievement and the launch of our new website, we are using our annual day at Booths on November 30 to publicise our free, monthly Heartstart classes.
“We will be talking to customers, handing out leaflets and giving a demonstration of how to perform CPR, encouraging more residents to come along and be trained in how to save lives in our community.
"Our British Heartstart Foundation-affiliated Heartstart courses provides those attending with the basic skills to save a life.
“The one-off free course, which lasts two and a half hours, concentrates on what to do in the event of someone having a cardiac arrest - a family member, neighbour or someone in the street - what to do before the ambulance arrives, including how to perform CPR and use a locally available AED.”
You can sign up for the course at Booths or book on the new website, kcfrt.org.uk
