A VULNERABLE 90-year-old woman was left extremely shaken after a burglar ransacked her home in the early hours of the morning.

The terrified woman woke up to find an intruder in her bedroom after he broke into her house on Station Road and stole a quantity of medication.

Detectives today released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers believe that the man in the CCTV image may have vital information to aid their investigation.

They are urging anyone who recognises him or thinks they may know who he is to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant Simon Parker, from Northwich Beat Team, said: “Burglary is a serious offence in which victims are targeted in their own home, which is the place they should be able to feel most safe.

“In this case the victim is a vulnerable elderly resident who was left extremely shaken as a result of the incident and we are determined to do all that we can establish who is responsible.

“As part of our enquiries we are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image that he may have important information to help with our ongoing investigation.

“If you think you recognise the man in the CCTV image or know who he is please call us on 101, quoting IML 564345, or give us the details online at www.cheshire.police.uk .

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV image to get in touch.”

The burglary happened during the early hours of Wednesday, November 13.

Information can also be reported anonymously, via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A man has been now arrested in connection with this burglary, the police have confirmed.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "As part of our enquiries into the burglary, a 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary."
