FIREFIGHTERS tackled a large fire in a field in Middlewich.
Crews were called to Coalpit Lane on Saturday shortly before 5pm.
Fire engines from Middlewich, Winsford, Northwich, Malpas, Crewe and Holmes Chapel helped to deal with the incident.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reel jets and a main jet to tackled the fire.
Crews also used a ground monitor to track progress.

Firefighters remained at the scene overnight and were assisted by a local farmer who used machinery to turn over the contents of the fire.
The fire was brought under control and left for the farmer to tend to.
