A MAN has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following an assault in Middlewich.
This was after a 32-year-old man from Sandbach was assaulted on Booth Lane at 1.50am on Sunday, November 3.
The victim suffered minor injuries to his face which required treatment in hospital.
John Finney, aged 33 and of Coronation Avenue in Alsager, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, causing serious injury by driving while disqualified and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was remanded and appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court yesterday, Wednesday.
A 28-year-old man from Middlewich who was arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent has been released under investigation.
A 31-year-old woman from Middlewich who was arrested on suspicion of attempting to wound with intent has also been released under investigation.
Pavements on Booth Lane and Long Lane South were cordoned off for several hours after the incident as police launched an investigation.
Residents reported seeing forensic teams taking pictures of numbered evidence markers on the pavement and road.
