CHESHIRE East Council’s election team will be hosting an important briefing session for potential Parliamentary candidates on Thursday, November 7 at 7.30pm at the council’s HQ, Westfields, in Sandbach.

This follows the vote in Parliament to hold a General Election on Thursday, December 12.

Nominations for the election will close at 4pm on November 14, meaning all paperwork and other documentation must be submitted and approved by that date.

Anyone seeking to stand in this election in the following Parliamentary constituencies is urged to attend this briefing session:

Congleton, Crewe and Nantwich, Macclesfield and Tatton.

The Returning Officer Kath O’Dwyer, who is also acting chief executive of Cheshire East Council, said: “I would urge all potential candidates to attend this meeting as there is important information we need to give relating to this election, the process for nominations, protocols and legalities.

Northwich Guardian:

“It is important that all paperwork for candidates is completed in full and correctly, prior to the deadline for nominations in order to avoid any difficulties that could prevent a candidate from standing.

“We will be able to offer advice to candidates on the paperwork that they need to complete.”

The briefing session will take place in Room S10 at Westfields, Middlewich Road, Sandbach, at 7.30pm.

Due to limited space, it is important that candidates, and their agents, contact Cheshire East election team to reserve their place as soon as possible.

They should telephone 01270 685922 or email electoral.information@cheshireeast.gov.uk
