FOUR people escaped injury after a car set alight following a crash.

Firefighters were called to reports of a car fire in Road One at the Winsford Industrial Estate, shortly after 3.30am today, Thursday.

On arrival the crew discovered that the car was well alight following a one-vehicle collision.

The four people who had been inside the car had all got out, and were assessed by paramedics.

They are not believed to have sustained any significant injuries.

A firefighter wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet, and once the fire was out the vehicle was damped down to make it safe.

Firefighters were in attendance for around 45 minutes.
