A RISING netball star from Hartford has received a funding boost thanks to homebuilder Redrow Homes.

Megan Evans was a member of the Wales u17 squad who came second in the Netball Europe Championships earlier this year.

With the costs of attending tournaments across the continent mounting, the teenager appealed to Redrow Homes for its support.

And she was delighted when the homebuilder got back in touch and offered to donate £250 towards her travel costs.

Northwich Guardian:

“All of the players had to raise money towards the Netball Performance League Tournament in Nottingham, and Redrow kindly helped Megan with a donation,” Megan’s mum Jane explained.

“It was a great opportunity for the team to compete against some of the top players from across the UK.”

Since 2016, Redrow has invested more than £20,000 into good causes in and around Hartford, which is something that the company hopes to continue doing in the future.

Caroline Thompson- Jones, area sales manager for Redrow Homes, added: “Megan has shown great commitment to netball and we were happy to help support her in attending competitions.

“We wish Megan and all of the Wales team the best of luck in future tournaments.”
