A GANG raided a man’s flat brandishing weapons late at night before trashing his home.

The homeowner was in the property on Salisbury Street in Fairfield at around 9.30pm on Thursday, October 10, when a group of males began banging on the floor and attempting to get inside.

While the occupier fled, the armed men accessed the address and proceeded to damage a number of his possessions.

They then ran away in the direction of St Elphin’s Park.

The suspects are described as being around 5ft5 tall and wearing all black clothing with their hoods up.

Detective constable Darren Gibson said: “This was a terrifying incident for the occupier.

“Thankfully, he was able to get out of the flat and flee before the offenders broke in.

“I would like to reassure members of the community that this is believed to have been an isolated incident, and we are doing everything we can to identify the offenders and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and I urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything that may be relevant to our investigation to come forward.

“Perhaps you saw the group of males that night, either before or after the incident occurred, or maybe you have CCTV or dashcam footage of them.

“I also appeal to anyone with any information regarding the identities of the offenders to contact us at Warrington Police Station.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML535776, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
