A CLIMATE change campaigner has been arrested after staging a blockade in a protest against global warming.
Extinction Rebellion Warrington coordinator Paul Sheeky was held by police during climate change protests in London on Wednesday.
He was one of hundreds of ‘northern rebels’ who formed camps blockading Millbank in Westminster.
Paul said: “The Earth is close to climate and ecological breakdown.
“Last time the planet heated uncontrollably, over 90 per cent of species were wiped out.
“As the Earth is now heating at a faster rate than at any time in its history, it is reasonable to assume that this could happen again.
“Current efforts to curb climate change are inadequate, and government inaction thus constitutes a crime against humanity, the natural world and future generations.”
