A POIGNANT service is being held once again at St Luke's Hospice in Winsford.

Light up a Life takes place on Sunday, December 1 and gives families the chance to remember treasured moments and memories of lost loved ones.

Each year relatives gather outside the hospice at Grosvenor House for a tree of life ceremony when each light will shine for someone special.

A spokesman for St Luke's said: "We understand that Christmas can be a particularly difficult time when someone we love has died and we know how important it can be to do something in their memory.

"Reflecting on time shared together can bring comfort, so we warmly invite you to come along and remember someone dear to you.

"Our ceremony is purely for you and we want to make it as special and comforting as possible.

"When you arrive we will give you your own candle to light in dedication to those you are remembering. The ceremony will contain readings and carols, as well as some quiet time for you to reflect."

The service starts at 4.30pm.

A Book of Memories will also be available so families can view the names of their loved ones.
