KNUTSFORD Hockey Club's women marked their first home game of the season with a stunning 8-0 win against Sale's seconds.

Sarah Fielding ended the game with a hat-trick, while Jess Flack bagged a first and second for the team.

Nat Riley and Suzi Weire also got their names on the teamsheet.

Knutsford were two goals clear inside 15 minutes.

They remained dominant, with the defence and goalkeeper Lucy White turning Sale away and two more goals were added by the break.

Amanda Rees, who stepped in to cover left wing, came close to a fifth before the turnaround.

By keeping to their steady formation, which saw quick passing between Katie Wright and Gill Lunt on the right wing building on Sarah Fielding’s consistent play from midfield in placing the ball firmly in the opposition half, Knutsford doubled their tally in the second period.

Knutsford, now eighth, visit Deeside on Saturday.
