ROXY Murdoch and Danielle Bound were Warrington Wolves Women's try twins as they helped their side defeat Huddersfield 36-4 in the Championship semi-final at The Halliwell Jones Stadium

Wolves are now 80 minutes away from Super League with help from captain Murdoch's first-half hat-trick and a double from Bound.

They will face Barrow, victors over Stanningley in the other semi-final, in a thrilling showdown at Manchester Regional Arena on Saturday.

Ellie Jelves and Rebekkah Wilson also crossed for tries, while Michelle Davis potted four goals.

It was all lapped up by a 1,067 crowd who hung around to see the team also receive the league leaders' shield.

The deadlock was broken in the 13th minute when Murdoch, the wife of Wire and Tonga back-rower Ben Murdoch-Masilla, twisted in the tackle to cross after Bound had been held short seconds earlier.

Davis kicked the conversion and was needed again two minutes later after Murdoch crossed for her second, this time after a drop-out had been forced. This time the post got in the way of Davis' conversion attempt but Wolves led 10-0.

Izzy Bibby responded with a try for Huddersfield, but it proved to be their only score as Wolves' defence matched everything else that was thrown at them.

Murdoch went through a gap for her hat-trick score and Davis kicked the extras to make it 20-4 at the break.

Another determined effort from Bound five minutes into the second half confirmed there was no way back for Huddersfield.

When Jelves went between the sticks and former Team GB Olympic bobsleigh performer Wilson showed her pace to run home from around the halfway line it put the gloss on the victory.
