THE community mayor and mayoress of Middlewich are inviting residents to help raise funds for the Mayor's Charities Fund this year.
Community mayor David Roberts and mayoress and consort Lynne Hardy are appealing to people who would like to help raise money for local charities.
Lynne said: "We thought that instead of the team consisting of just ourselves and councillors we would like to open this up to anyone who is interested.
"We have ideas for events but are very open to suggestions for new things to do.
"In the past several people have expressed an interest in becoming involved, so please come forward again. This may be hard work but it will also, I’m sure, be a lot of fun.
"As you all know the community mayor is a non political post so politics will not come into it.
"I hope we can come together on this and raise a goodly sum of money for local charities."
