A FESTIVAL for older people took place at the Gateway this week to promote living well.

50FEST for the Older People’s Engagement Group) coincided with National Older People’s Day.

The aim was to engage people aged 50 plus without mentioning ‘getting old’.

The event offered access to information and advice on how to prepare for older age, promoting healthy lifestyles and ways to ensure good health and wellbeing.

Advice included staying connected to others and having access to information to make the right choices.

Attendees enjoyed recipe demonstrations, activities from Public Health England, table tennis, yoga, zumba and photography.

Livewire also gave advice on lifestyle weight management and smoking cessation.

Staff from Marks & Spencer gave demonstrations on how to achieve mature make up and moisturising and The Garden Spa from Sankey Neighbourhood Hub were on hand to provide treatments.

The Warrington Wolves Foundation also spoke to the group about men’s health.
