ENTHUSIASTIC volunteers are giving Winsford a clean-up at the weekend.
Friends of Winsford Town Park are holding the second of their town wide litter picks.
John Malam, the group's chairman, said: "The spring litter pick saw 40 volunteers pick more than 100 sacks of litter from all over Winsford.
"Following on from that we’ve decided to hold two town wide litter picks a year in the spring and autumn.”
Litter was collected from the streets and open spaces of Wharton and Over, the Flashes, the Marina, High Street, Rilshaw Lane, Wyvern Pool, New Road and Knights Grange.
Anyone wishing to take part in the litter pick can collect bin bags at the Town Park viewing platform from 10am to 11am on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6.
Volunteers are asked to lift up the litter but not to pick up any needles or dangerous items.

Filled bags can then be returned to the park where they will be collected by the Street Care team from Cheshire West and Chester Council.
