ALL Mary Edwards wanted for her 101st birthday was a Bucks Fizz!

The retired Leighton Hospital medical secretary was thrilled when staff at Winsford Grange Care Home made her dream come true.

Mary celebrated her milestone birthday enjoying her favourite tipple at a singalong with friends and fellow residents.

Town council mayor Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones joined her for her special day.

Mary lived in Willaston in Crewe with her husband Howard. She worked as a medical secretary in hospitals in Crewe and the surrounding area, including Leighton Hospital, before her retirement.

Winsford Grange Care Home provided an afternoon of entertainment, with cake and balloons, for everyone to enjoy.

Karen Woodward, service manager at Winsford Grange said: “It is an honour and a privilege to celebrate such a milestone birthday with Mary. She didn’t want any fuss. Her one wish was to celebrate with a Bucks Fizz which we were happy to fulfil. It was lovely that the mayor of Winsford could join in her celebrations.”
