ASDA, Boots and Waitrose have all recalled products after alerts were issued by the Food Standards Agency.

Some products have been found to contain listeria, metal, or not have the correct allergy information.

In all cases, customers who bought these products are being urged not to use them, or to return them to the store they purchased them from.

We have compiled a list of some of the most recent product recalls from the past week.

ASDA

Struik Foods is recalling Bunlimited Crispy Onions because they may contain small pieces of metal. The presence of metal makes this product, which is sold in ASDA, unsafe to eat.

The Argus:

The batch affected is the 100g size with a best before date of 11 June 2020.

Soupologie

Soupologie has taken the precautionary step of recalling three varieties of soup because they may contain listeria.

Symptoms caused by listeria can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea.

Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.

The Argus:

The three varieties of soup recalled are as follows:

  • Soupologie 5 a day Classic Tomato with Carrot & Red Pepper Soup 600g, batch code 03969, best before October 1, 2019
  • Soupologie Broccoli, Pea & Basil Soup, 600g, batch code 03984, best before October 2, 2019
  • Soupologie Pea & Leek Soup, 600g, batch code 03980, best before October 2, 2019

No other Soupologie products are known to be affected.

Belvita

Mondelez UK is recalling Belvita Soft Bakes Choco Hazelnut Flavour breakfast biscuits because milk is not declared on the label.

Some packs of the product may have been incorrectly packed with Belvita Soft Bakes Choc Chips breakfast biscuits which contain milk.

The Argus:

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The 200g four pack is affected, with a batch code of CWS0192531, and best before date of 23 December 2019.

Waitrose

Waitrose is recalling Waitrose Sour Cream and Chive Mix because it contains wheat which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The batch affected is the 150g pack size, with a best before date of 21 December 2019.
