TWO men are to run from Old Colwyn to London before taking part in next year’s London Marathon.

Guy Rowlands, known as Gaz, and Sam Renshaw, both from Old Colwyn, are running to raise funds for the Happy Faces children's charity.

Gaz said: “The challenge we are taking up is to run from Old Colwyn to London before running the 2020 London marathon. We will run the 254 miles over 11 days, that is approximately a marathon a day. We will be staying in bed and breakfasts on our way south.

“Our particular goal is to raise £20,000 to buy a minibus for Ysgol Pendalar in Caernarfon. We have already raised £1,100 on our Facebook page.

"We will be emailing all schools in North Wales hoping they will do non school uniform days for us, and ask each child to bring £1 in. We have bucket collections going on in supermarkets and posters going up with collection points in most local shops in Old Colwyn area."

Both Gaz and Sam are aged 36. Guy is a carpenter and Sam is a personal trainer. Gaz has already run the London Marathon eight times and Sam five times.
