NEW construction-themed toys at Sandiway Primary School are inspiring the next generation of builders.

The play items have been provided by homebuilder Redrow after the school successfully applied to Redrow’s Hartford Community Fund.

The purpose of the grant is to improve the outside space used by early years children in the village.

And thanks to the £700 donation, Sandiway Primary received a range of construction related toys which included toy building blocks.

“Learning through play is important for our youngest children and as part of improvements to our outside space, we’ve created a construction area,” said early years’ class teacher Clare Forsyth.

“The toy building blocks sourced with Redrow’s help are a great tool to for pupils to develop motor skills.

“During playtime, the children have lots of fun building different structures and love putting on their hard hats and imagining they’re builders themselves.”

Northwich Guardian:

Since 2016 Redrow has directly invested more than £20,000 into good causes in and around Hartford via voluntary community funds.

The fund has allowed the local scout group to attend the World Jamboree and Acton Bridge WI to reprint a local history book.

Caroline Thompson- Jones, area sales manager for Redrow Homes North West, said: “When we heard that Sandiway Primary was developing a construction area, we knew it was the perfect project to support via our Hartford Community Fund.

“The bricks look very realistic and hopefully will inspire some of the children to consider a future in construction when they’re older.”
