A FOUL smell caught the attention of police in Ellesmere Port on Thursday afternoon.
The source of the stink was traced to a bus stop between Stamford Street and Atherton Road, where an officer made the unpleasant discovery of human excrement.
The officer also reported a strong smell of urine emanating from the bus stop.
Writing on social media, the Grange Police - Ellesmere Port account wrote: "Not a pleasant experience waiting for your bus.
"We have reported to be cleaned asap."
The bus stop is said to be on the side of the street with even house numbers.
