A MANAGER who has helped to improve the way missing person cases are dealt with by police has been presented with a special award.

Julie Cradock, who is a senior management analyst based at Cheshire Police HQ in Winsford, has used her expertise to assist officers on a number of projects to help find better and more efficient ways of working.

One of these involved the end-to-end review of the missing person process, in which Julie has provided insight into understanding themes and the impact upon the frontline.

She has also been involved in the delivery of a forensics business plan for the next five years and is described as a pleasure to work with by all her colleagues.

Julie was presented with the Police Staff of the Year prize at the constabulary’s Achieving Cheshire Excellence (ACE) Awards, which in Chester on Friday, September 13.

The ACE Awards are the constabulary’s highest accolades that can be awarded to an individual or team that has gone the extra mile or demonstrated exceptional commitment to policing in Cheshire.

Julie said: “It is a privilege to work for Cheshire Constabulary and have an insight into what officers face day in day out and the commitment they show.

“I am honoured to receive this award. If anything I do helps to support the officers on the front line in some small way then I can go home happy.”

Chief Constable Darren Martland said: “I’m extremely proud of the fantastic work our officers, staff and volunteers do each and every day to help keep Cheshire safe.

“It is important that we dedicate an opportunity like the Ace Awards to celebrate some of this work and hear the inspirational stories which have led to this year’s nominations.

“We have some truly outstanding people at Cheshire Constabulary and I would like to personally congratulate all those who were nominated by their colleagues.
