MORE than 250 runners were painted in rainbow colours as they joined in a fun run on Sunday.

Fun runners, serious runners, pram-pushers, walkers all took part in the St Helens Colour Run.

And they appeared to have a fantastic time being covered in coloured powder.

The event started at 9am and saw runners head from Saints’ stadium, over the Steve Prescott Bridge to Church Square and back.

Craig Richards, from Saints Community Development Foundation said: “Once again it was a really successful event that we were delighted to bring to the town, in partnership with YMCA Youth Sports and Mark Jennings, Sports Development Officer at St Helens Sports Development.

“As well as being a well attended event it was great to see the smiling faces and fun that was had at the stadium.

“It was great to see so many people of different ages and abilities having fun whilst covered in paint at this year’s colour run.

“It was truly a great family event and we look forward to us growing from strength to strength in future Colour Run events.

“We would also like to thank the support of Mad Runners and Co-op distribution Lea Green and also to our very own Saints Angels for their support helping us run the event.”
