A RELAXING get together has been held for parents of children who have just started in reception class.
Coffee and cakes were served to mums and dads at St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Middlewich.
Headteacher Janet McKinlay said: "It is a chance for parents to come together and ask us any questions they may have. It is normal to feel nervous when your child starts school for the first time.
"Talking to other parents and speaking to us helps to put their minds at rest. It gives them a bit of reassurance so they know they are not alone.

"It breaks the ice, they can offer moral support to each other as well as useful information about things like where to get uniforms."
The afternoon in the school's newly refurbished nurture room was organised by the school's parent teacher association.
