FIONA Bruce has submitted objections to Cheshire East Council’s plans for a transit site at Cledford Hall.
The MP has outlined concerns with the site’s proximity to the Ansa hub, as well as traffic generated by the proposed eastern bypass and a lack of consultation.
There are also fears that busy nearby businesses and a lack of pavements could present dangers to children and pedestrians, as well as the site being too close to Middlewich’s settled traveller population.
Fiona said: “On behalf of local residents I objected to this proposal when it was originally made in 2015, and subsequent developments make this location even less suitable – not least the fact that since then the ANSA site on Cledford Lane has resulted in substantially increased local traffic carrying substantial volumes and waste, and the fact that funding has been obtained for the Middlewich Eastern Bypass for which Cledford Lane will be a feeder road with further major traffic implications.”
The MP has also written to the council’s chief executive expressing concern.
The ‘Site Allocations and Development Policies Document’ sets aside Cledford Hall for 10 transit pitches for gypsies and travellers.
