ELLESMERE Port Comic Con has been saved and once again returns to the town's Civic Hall this Sunday (September 15) for a fan and family-friendly event.

On hearing the news that the previous organisers were not going to run another event, new organisers Steven Howard and family stepped in despite only having five weeks to put it together to keep a geeky event on the calendar in Ellesmere Port.

Steven said: "I have been to Ellesmere Port Comic Con several times as a trader and when I heard there wouldn't be another one we had to step in so it wouldn't be lost.

"We already run events in nearby Northwich and Nantwich in Cheshire which people enjoy so we felt we could put on a similar event for the town."

Visitors to the event will once again be able to immerse themselves in the Comic Con World and will be able to meet guests from TV/Movies including Ross O'Hennessy, The 'Lord of Bones' from Game of Thrones and Willie Coppen, who played an Ewok in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

There will also be the chance to take free photos with great displays and props such as The Iron Throne and Monsters Inc. 'Boo's Door', stop for a 'high five' and picture with the costumers and cosplayers including Star Wars, superhero characters, Pikachu, Monsters Inc. Sully, Bumblebee and more.

For those who like to dress as their favourite character, there will be cosplay competitions with prizes.

There will also be a big mix of stalls selling action figures, comics, artwork, retro games, books, Lego, TV memorabilia, collectables, Pokémon, handmade goods and more.

Advance purchase tickets (from 10am entry) are £5 for those aged 12 and above, £3 for those aged five to 11 and free for under fives, with a two adults and two children family ticket available for £10.

General admission is pay on the door from 11am and is £6 for those aged 12 and above, £4 for those aged five to 11 and free for under fives.
