Winsford Town councillors will be asked to prepare a climate change strategy to reduce the town’s carbon footprint at their next meeting on Monday evening.

Members will be invited to prepare a report for their meeting in October outlining how the council will reduce the town's carbon footprint to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Councillors are being asked to encourage all residents, partners and businesses in Winsford to reduce and eradicate their carbon footprint.

Advice from Cheshire West and Chester Council on the impact of a no-deal Brexit will also be discussed.

Mayor Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones will present a report on a stop smoking summit and give an update on the work of the Wellbeing Winsford Group.

Plans to create a wildflower meadow in the town will also be considered.

Feedback on this year's Winsford Salt Fair, which opens tomorrow, will be discussed.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting which takes place at Wyvern House following the committee meeting which starts at 6.30pm.

This will be the first 2019 town council meeting to be held in the CWAC council chamber on the ground floor.
