A FEAST of family fun is lined up for this year's Winsford Salt Fair.

Winsford Town Council has teamed up with Heritage Open Days, River Weaver Navigation Society and Sharlands Fun Fair to organise special events from September 12 to 15.

The funfair on Dene Drive car park will be opened at 6pm on Thursday by deputy town mayor Cllr Don Beckett.

Brunner Guildhall will be open to the public all weekend as part of Heritage Open Days.

Various groups and organisations will be showcasing their work including Bandedge Resurrected.

A hog roast will be provided by Compass Minerals and there will be a chance to enter a Salt Mine competition for an exciting visit down the country’s only operational deep salt mine in Winsford.

The Salt Towns Rally takes place on Saturday, organised by River Weaver Navigation Society and includes refreshments at the Red Lion.

Town mayor Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones said: We hope that as many people as possible will come along and enjoy the Salt Fair as well as Winsford as a whole."
