AN award-winning Chester restaurant has collaborated with more than 20 Chester and Cheshire food producers to create the ultimate seasonal dining experience.

Chef’s Table Events, the catering arm of Chester city centre restaurant The Chef’s Table, is partnering with local events venue Delamere Events to offer guests six cleverly devised courses with paired drinks on the shores of Cherry Orchard Lake near Delamere Forest.

The collaborative event on Friday and Saturday, September 27-28, is described as ‘a culinary exploration of our beloved county in six courses, celebrating the people and produce in our own backyard.’

The evening will also feature local talent Me & Deboe, an award-winning folk band with percussive riffs and a distinctly original sound.

Taking inspiration from their creative menus, one of the dishes – described simply as ‘Smoky’ – comprises Cheshire Smokehouse smoked salmon, with Christleton Orchard Range creamed egg, Cheshire Saffron Company saffron, and Malpas anise hyssop, paired with a glass of English Sparkling wine.

Another course showcases the sweeter producers, featuring Haughton Honey cake, fresh honeycomb and Field 28 lemon verbena, with a sticky sherry drinks pairing.

The Chef’s Table Events team will introduce the distinctive menu, highlighting the suppliers and culinary twists they’ve added to each dish. The evening menus, including a vegetarian menu, have been recently released on the team’s website at www.chefstablechesterevents.co.uk/edition-3. Vegan and other dietary options are available.

Tom Hughes, co-owner of The Chef’s Table, said: “We’re really chuffed so many producers and suppliers have agreed to work with us collaboratively, to showcase the best Cheshire has to offer.

"This event is just as much about each of the individual producers, as it is for the team here at Chef’s Table Events. We’re simply using our reputation to give other local businesses a platform to get noticed. At the event we’ll make sure every producer is given credit for their contribution to each dish, and staff will be available to discuss the provenance of each ingredient with guests.

"After the tickets for our pop-up event in Chester Zoo sold out in 10 hours flat, we know if we create something really unique and high quality, people will want to come. That’s what we’ve done here too.”

Ryan Cartwright, owner of Delamere Events, added: “Hosting an event so focused on promoting other local organisations is heartwarming, and aligns with our ethos of supporting business partners across Cheshire.

"We’re just adding the finishing touches to the event - gazing at the stars from the see-through marquee will be a stunning experience - and we can’t wait to see the final results at the end of September!”
