CHESHIRE has been ranked as one of England’s worst counties for the theft of motorcycles.

This is according to figures published by BikerRated.com, who revealed that 5.4 percent of motorcycles and scooters thefts in England over the past 12 months were in Cheshire.

The county sits as the fourth highest in the country for motorcycle thefts, with higher numbers only present in Bristol, East Yorkshire and Herefordshire.

The data covers a 12-month period from July 2018 to July 2019 and has been compiled from bikes reported stolen on bikersunited.co.uk, which is the UK’s stolen motorcycle database.

Knutsford Guardian:

Over 27,000 motorcycles and scooters were stolen in the UK as a whole in 2018, 58 percent of which happened in either Greater London, the South East and the North West.

A staggering 94.6 percent of the UK's stolen motorcycles were reported in England, with just 5.4 percent in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

The three counties with the least recorded motorcycle thefts are Devon, Gloucestershire and Rutland, who together recorded just 0.2 percent of the UK’s stolen motorcycles.
